In the middle of 19th century Great Britain, Queen Victoria had been imposing her new ethical code system on social and cultural conditions, sharpening evidently already abyssal differences gendered stereotypes. The Pre-Raphaelite painters reacted to sterile way painting dictated by art academies, both in terms thematology technique, suggesting a new, revolutionary painting, but were unable escape their monolithic gender stereotypes culture. Using female models for heroines who often identified with degraded position Victorian woman, they could not overcome socially systemic views, despite innovative ideas achievements.
